About

I am Ann Handley, and this is the personal web log, a place to talk about the state of “Annarchy.” Annarchy is my world: a general state of disorder and occasional (yes!) chaos. Here, I talk mainly about the interesting bits of life, the stuff that doesn’t fit into either my business blogging or freelance editorializing.

By day, I am the Chief Content Officer of MarketingProfs — which means that I heads up All Things Content on the MarketingProfs Web site and am the Primary Caregiver of its blog, the MarketingProfs Daily Fix, as well as a contributor. I also write for The Huffington Post.

In a previous life, I was the co-founder of ClickZ.com. Even before that, I was a longtime freelance journalist, writing and editing all sorts of content flotsam and jetsam — everything from local politics to business to babies to travel to start-ups to banking to humor. I wrote regularly for the Boston Globe as well as a million (give or take) mainstream and trade publications. I wasn’t discerning — the truth is, I wrote for anything that would put bread in my jar.

I  live near Boston in a slightly creaky, comfortable house with 2 kids, 4 dogs (long story), good coffee in the kitchen, decent wine in the cellar, a stack of New Yorkers by my bed, and an occasional field mouse in the laundry room.

  1. It seems weird for me to say to you, “Welcome to the blogosphere.”
